What the City Needs to Provide, Set Up, and Test
City of Miramar AI Boot Camp · July 27–31, 2026 · 15 students, 2 teachers
Everything below is provided by the City. It must be set up and tested before teacher training. The room and setup complete by Tuesday evening, July 21, MetAiBlock runs a dry run that same evening, and every machine is verified during training (July 22 to 24).
1 Laptops (provided by the City)
The City provides all laptops through Parks & Recreation (not city IT). 17 total: 15 students plus 2 teachers. Nothing heavy is needed. An i5-class processor is ideal, and 8 to 16 GB of RAM is fine. Each machine needs a working mic, speakers, and camera.

⚠️ Critical: remove the laptops from the city domain / GPO
The single biggest access dependency. City IT must handle this before training.
- ☐ These are city laptops that auto-join the city secure domain via Group Policy (GPO). As-is, that policy will likely block the external AI tools and connect the machines to internal city resources.
- ☐ The laptops likely must be removed from the domain / GPO so they (a) can freely reach the external AI tools and (b) do not touch internal city resources.
- ☐ City IT owns this and completes it before teacher training (July 22). It is a hard dependency to confirm on the setup.
2 Audio / Visual (room)
The City sets the room up classroom-style with a projector. Teachers project for the group and interactive moments, and most work happens on individual laptops. No 15 wired ports are needed.

3 Internet / WiFi
Every activity runs online. The network must carry all 17 devices at once doing heavy AI use, media generation, and downloads. This is the biggest technical risk, so the City runs a live stress test before training.

4 IT Permissions & Support
This is the make-or-break section. The laptops can be perfect, but if the network blocks these sites or sign-ins, the camp cannot run. City IT will whitelist the domains below and send the list to their security team.

If any one of these is blocked, that activity stops for the whole class.
- ☐ Whitelist these domains through the web filter on the camp devices, and send the list to the security team. Core tools: Chrome, higgsfield.ai, ChatGPT (openai.com), suno.com, claude.ai, google.com. Plus common media and CDN hosts:

- ☐ Allow sign-ins to program-provided accounts in the browser. No policy that blocks logging into ChatGPT, Suno, Claude, or the chosen video tool.
- ☐ Allow file uploads and downloads (images, audio, video) and clipboard use (copy and paste) in the browser.
- ☐ No admin lockdown that blocks the browser or these sites. Browsers updated to their current version.
- ☐ Some tools may require a desktop app install. Please allow installs, or coordinate an approved alternative with MetAiBlock before July 22. If the city images or locks these machines, coordinate before July 22.
- ☐ IT point of contact available live during teacher training, Wednesday to Friday (July 22 to 24), about 10am to 3pm, to fix any access issue on the spot.
- ☐ Content filtering aligned to ages 13 and up and school-appropriate. Open enough for the camp tools, safe for teens.
5 When Things Must Be Available
Three dates drive everything. Each requirement above ties back to these.
6 Who to Confirm With
City Parks & Recreation provides and confirms the laptops (17 total, plus 2 to 3 backups). City IT handles the domain / GPO removal, the domain whitelist, the network, and the on-site support window.
MetAiBlock runs a dry run on Tuesday evening (July 21) and tests every machine during teacher training (July 22 to 24), so any gap is caught before Day 1, not during it.
Please confirm City IT can approve the domain / GPO removal, the domain whitelist (sent to the security team), the sign-in policy, and live on-site support Wednesday to Friday, about 10am to 3pm.
